Branding & Strategy Video Production Web Development

The Challenge

As a startup company aiming to emerge in the electronics industry, not even a name had been created for the brand nor the product. As the product was not created yet, the team was “branding the invisible” and took a strategic approach to do so. From naming consultation for both the brand and the product line, to logo identity, [ 2 one 5 ] Creative dove right in—creating a cohesive brand identity and several points of brand contact.

The Approach

From the get-go, [ 2 one 5 ] Creative was heavily involved in the product conception and design phase, providing us with the appropriate research to develop a brand identity for the the overall company, Abov. Next, we turned our attention to the product, a fully-grounded and surge protected vertical standing power strip: The Voltower. [ 2 one 5 ] Creative was tasked with setting brand standards to ensure a successful identity for Abov and the Voltower. Once this was in place, [ 2 one 5 ] turned their attention to designing and developing a fully responsive website that  highlights the features and benefits of the Voltower. Finally, a crowd-funding video was produced to help increase awareness about this revolutionary product.

Name Development

Through extensive research and multiple test trials with the prototype, [ 2 one 5 ] Creative landed on the company name Abov. With the brand name in place, the vertical standing power strip came next. Rising above expectations, the Voltower was born.

Branding Identity/Brand Standards

Color, tone, type, and symbols were established early on, setting the foundation for the logo design. Substituting the ‘o’ in Abov for a power button symbolizes the company’s mission to ‘Elevate Power Solutions.’ The “v” in the Voltower became representative of the power and movement of the unique product.

Front-end & Back-end Development

[ 2 one 5 ] Creative designed and developed a custom website for Abov that showcases the Voltower in a simple and sophisticated manner. Featuring several links to the crowdfunding campaign, the website serves as an introduction to the product, highlighting features, benefits, and use cases.

Product videography and an interview with the founder were then shot during the prototype phase and subsequently used to create a crowdfunding video explaining the functions, uses, and specs of the Voltower.


The Voltower launched on Kickstarter early 2016 which the video [ 2 one 5 ] Creative product video at the head of the page. Research revealed that 33% of people backed the project specifically after watching the video. The Voltower received interest internationally and developed strong buzz within the power solutions industry.
