2020 Last Minute Holiday Gift Guide

If you are still looking for last minute gifts for the winter holidays, you are not alone. It turns out that because of gathering limits and the subsequent postponement of celebrations, many have fallen into a procrastination cycle this year. Our suggestions come from smaller businesses and artists that need the extra love this year (as we all do). Below is a list of our fondest choices, enjoy!

by ren was suggested by our Lead Videographer and Editor, Jackie. This jewelry line focuses on intuitively created, minimal statement jewelry that nourishes a connection between simplistic designs and an innate desire to be expressive and playful. by ren was created by Rachael Compton, a self-taught jewelry designer and Philadelphia native. Rachael designs jewelry with the intention to be wearable time capsules, small objects holding memories of past experiences and reminders of present happiness. Each piece is handmade!




Harriet’s BookshopCrewneck ($40) – For the bookworm on your list


This homegrown bookshop in Fishtown is a recommendation that comes from our Copywriting Intern, Maureen. It is an independently black owned and operated shop that focuses on sourcing work from women authors, artists, and activists. In addition to a wide selection of historical and woke books, they also have a cool merch line.




ALL CAPS STUDIOTote Bag ($45) – For the empathy streetwear lover


Our next rad suggestion comes from our President and CCO, Nik. A local artist with the Instagram handle, @allcapstudio has the unique and stylish long-sleeve tees, hoodies and totes the streetwear lover in your life needs. Get to the ALL CAPS STUDIO website fast before the merch sells out!

OccasionetteRocks Glass ($14) – For your burnt-out best pal


Sure, you can find everything on your list on Amazon, but if you’re looking to support a local shop, Occasionette is for you. This cute-as-a-button little gem was suggested by our VP of Brand Development, Emily. This shop has a broad mix of unique, well-made gifts to suit nearly everyone on your list. For your sister-in-law (i.e., her sister-in-law, shhhh), pick up a Gritty tea towel; for your outdoorsy mom, a spotted lanternfly sticker ; and for yourself, to spice up the decor in your house/home office/gym/elementary school, these super cute mini multicolored tannenbaum trees. Occasionette has it all, and even if you aren’t looking to buy, strolling around in their sanitized, population-controlled storefront will provide a guaranteed few moments of distracted zen (i.e., the gift on ALL our lists this year).

Mekunia (a personal favorite of our Senior Operations Manager, Dana Marie) specializes in custom leather jewelry and accessories. Working from her home studio in Collingswood, NJ, owner / artist Magdalena Boufal-Nistico creates collaborative designs, ready-to-wear styles, and a entirely bespoke embellishments for humans who crave the distinct and special. Each piece is handcrafted utilizing a variety of techniques including embossing, silk screening, and photo transfer. From delicate floral hairpins to a custom statement cuff to sentimental earrings featuring a child’s sketch, Mekunia delivers wearable art with every piece.
