[ 2 one 5 ] Creative Revamps Website for Wawa Welcome America

Welcome America, Inc. has chosen [ 2 one 5 ] Creative to update their website to be a portal for interaction with event goers and to enhance the brand positioning for their Fourth of July festival events.

 

PHILADELPHIA  – June 2017  –  Ready to make Philadelphia the number one Fourth of July celebration destination this summer, Welcome America, Inc. has chosen [ 2 one 5 ] Creative to enhance their Wawa Welcome America Festival website and mobile experience. Last year, the website attracted over 470,000 visitors to the website during the week of the festival. This year, it was important elevate the user experience even further.

 

Welcome America, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization who, with the help of private partners, celebrates America’s Independence Day with a week long celebration culminating in the city-wide concert, Wawa Welcome America. This festival has positioned itself as the “must go to” concert in Philadelphia to celebrate Independence Day and our nation’s history. The week leading up to the main entertainment event consists of free museums, concerts, block parties, and firework displays for everyone to enjoy. In 2016, the concert alone attracted over 200,000 on-site and 200,000 watched on-air.

 

With this year marking the 25th anniversary, they are pulling out all the stops. The festival has continued to grow each year due to its increasing popularity for both Philadelphia locals as well as a tourist destination, bringing people together from various surrounding states. Because of this, there are several challenges [ 2 one 5 ] Creative has undertaken, those being, updating the look and feel of the website, making event information more easily accessible, organized, and easily navigated by event goers, and finally increasing sponsorship recognition. Building a platform for this unique festival to not only display, but to promote and emphasize the event’s sponsors is immensely important as a sales tool to ensure the retention of current sponsors as well to generate future ones. The new website design truly communicates the excitement and fun around the actual events while positioning Philadelphia as the main tourist destination for July 4th activities.  

 

The website is the primary way Welcome America, Inc. promotes the activities leading up to the festival, so upgrading the website to operate more efficiently and to handle the large boost in traffic driven from high interest and partners such as NBC10, Telemundo62, and Visit Philly. This unique festival requires a custom build and [ 2 one 5 ] has created an integrated, responsive, experience allowing event goers to seamlessly interact with the brand and utilize the mobile site just as they would an app. The mobile experience will serve as a guide for festival goers on-site, allowing them to receive the most up to date information. The website will allow for better data collection and increased engagement by implementing pop-alerts & tips for festival goers. By tackling all of these challenges, Wawa Welcome America stands to increase event awareness and will ensure a great user experience that reflective of the festival.
