The year 2010 marks the 20th anniversary of Adobe’s truly game-changing application, Photoshop, which finally gave the instant power of image manipulation to the common man. That’s 20 years of printing money and fake IDs in the dorms, fake celebrity porno, and Reuters trickery. To celebrate the occasion, we collaborated with our friends at design firm CHIPS—a duo out of Brooklyn responsible for Too Hot For the Internet, some corporate logo-ing, and a little trickery of their own—to knock out an official countdown of all the awesome stuff that Photoshop has given us over the years. And remember kids—it’s not real…

I love these posters! Yeah i said it. In a design world overwhelmed with Bevels and Glows, its refreshing to see there is still such amazing talent out there. Tavis Coburn was commissioned to illustrate the program covers for the 2010 BAFTA awards ceremony… And we think they look Amazing, check them out after the jump! Source

Ride’s season crowning event, The Shakedown at Snoqualmie jumps off today at the Summit at Snoqualmie. Rad ass features, a ridiculous rider list that includes E-man, Dan Brisse, Darrell Mathes, Dustin Craven, Forest Bailey, Lucas Magoon, Marc McMorris, Sebastien Toutant, Yale Cousino, and a bunch more plus a healthy emphasis on partying, the Shakedown is definitely one of the year’s raddest throwdowns. The Canadian version goes down at St. Saveur on April 2.

It seems like we post about infamous NYC graf tagger Love Me on a weekly basis. And it’s not just because we’re friends with him. It’s because we like his tag, and we’ve seen it evolve over the last few years into little scrawlings and stickers to huge building sides and artwork in shows. Here’s a middle of the line piece grabbing the attention of some passerbyers in NYC. Nice job, Curtis!

Having been a longtime fan of Futura, i was delighted to watch this insightful interview with the artist. I just met with Futura last year but did not get to speak to much to him because we were interviewing his partner in crime STASH. Anyways for any you folks that may not be atuned with this kind of art, be sure to take note because it’s on the UP and UP.

I stumbled into the photographic images this morning while checking out the site BOOOOOOOM. They reminded me a lot of the state of Michigan and some real issues that are affecting the country these days. The color and subjects he chose are very interesting. If you’ve ever looked at a traditional city map and lamented its unimaginative format, U.K. designer James Skevington has created the concept series ‘Frequent Flyer,’ rendering notable cities around the world as whimsical illustrations. The ‘maps,’ although not necessarily accurate for travel, work to provide the viewer with a sense of the cultural currency and content of a place, demonstrating its unique character through whimsical, colorful, and creative imagery. Although its not recommended you discard your GPS just yet, Skevington’s ‘Frequent Flyer’ remains an interest and innovative way to think about a city.

Living Proof Magazine Issue 4 is hitting select stockists in the coming days as Issue 4 unveils a strong cast of creative minds adorning the pages of the relatively young magazine. Participants include “Phil Frost, Steven Harrington (the former and latter sharing a dual cover), Marco Zamora, Adam Wallacavage, Alex Prager, Curtis Buchanan, and Booooooom! creator Jeff Hamada.” Further contributions come from legendary street photographer Martha Cooper. The magazine will be available at Supreme NYC/LA, A.R.C., Reed Space, St. Alfred, Concepts, Ubiq and O.H.W.O.W.

Having been a fan of Clare Rojas’s work for quite awhile now, it’s been a pleasure to see that she’s having some great show coming of late. The show that is currently on at the IKON gallery looks to be a very interesting . Not that i was actually on hand in Birmingham, but just from slide show on their website, it appears that Clare has some huge installations and some small framed paintings and some midsized works as well.

The cover art for the new album Li(f)e from hip hop artist Sage Francis was created by renowned artist and illustrator Shepard Fairey. Fairey has employed his distinctive style to create an image of Francis caught in the crosshairs as flames rise beneath him. Sage Francis will be performing songs from Li(f)e at the upcoming South By Southwest Festival on Tuesday March 18 at The Independent, 501 Studios, 501 Brushy Street at 12:30 am, before embarking on a North American tour.
