My weekend in OBX

Well, I know Memorial Day Weekend has come and gone but I haven’t had the chance to share my exciting five days of fun with all of you until now. So, let’s start from the beginning. It was a sunny Friday morning when my boyfriend and I headed down south for a nice little 8-hour roadtrip to his vacation home in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Peice of cake…until I got behind the wheel to give him a rest and immediately got pulled over in Maryland, costing me a good chunk of change. Thanks for that. Despite my speeding ticket, I was still in a great mood (could have been the sugar-high from the entire king-size bag of Starbursts I ate.) We finally arrived to his house late that night, and knew I was going to love being there as soon as I stepped out of the car and looked up at the stars. I think Incubus does a good job describing it: “The sky resembles a back-lit canopy with holes punched in it…” So, first thing Saturday morning, we went exploring though the woods along the Currituck Sound Nature Walk. Saw some snakes and turtles, no wild boar or polar bears though. Anyway, Sunday was a blur and Monday too. It was our goal to jam-pack our days doing as much shit as we could. We had some lazy hours by the clubhouse pool and on the beach but we also got went rollerblading around the town, played some mini-golf, tennis, and last but NOT least, went wave-running…err wave-jumping. Doing almost 40 mph on choppy water will definitely get you airborne. And to sum it all up, we went out to dinner at a sweet place called Sunset Grille on Rt. 12. The blackened tuna bites and pasta primavera were amazing. Check that place out if your in the area!
