I didn’t really talk about the Kidz in the Hall when I saw them with Dizzie Rascal, Busdriver, and El-P. But I really should have. These Kidz bring back an old school 90’s hip hop style… and it works. I must admit though, I haven’t listened to the entire album yet… but from what I heard at the concert and the one song that was I able to cop, which I can’t stop listening to, Drivin Down the Block… these boyz got it and all they need is a strong fan base and they’re good. They’re set. Drivin Down the Block samples Masta Ace’s “Born to Roll” as their hook and interprets Outkast’s “Elevators (Me&You).” While Naledge and Double-O increase the size of their roll-o-dex - throwin down a song for homeboy Obama’s “Change” mixtape, which includes fellow Chi-town natives The Cool Kids along with many others - you should run out to your local iTunes store and cop yourself either their newest album The In Crowd or their first album School Was My Hustle … or both!
Naledge and Double-O both hail from the windy city, Chi-Town. After relocating to the University of Pennsylvania to get an edumacation they met and created the Kidz in the Hall. Not only are their beatz throw back but they’re reviving the 90’s record label Rawkus Records.
Summer’s comin up and the temps are rising so to get in the spirit, I best see/hear you drivin down the block with you Kidz in the Hall bass crazy kickin it….
