Where are all of the best bands going to be this summer? Following each other around the music fest circuit. From the West coast to the East. Here in Philadelphia, one of the closest is Bonnaroo. The Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival is one of those things that is better in theory than in actuality. I can say this having dropped $200 and a week of my life trying to cram in a years worth of concert going into 3 days. It doesn’t work. Granted, I didn’t properly prepare myself for the 100 degree weather and the glaring Tennessee sun and ended up with heat stroke… but still. On the flip side, if you think your music festival going skillz are stronger than mine… I strongly suggest hunting between the couch cushions to scrape up the money to buy your ticket. This years line up is insane!
Just a small sampling of the good stuff to come include a little something for everyone: Pearl Jam, Metallica, B.B. King, Sigur Ros, Cat Power, M.I.A., Rilo Kiley, Lupe Fiasco, MSTRKRFT, !!!, Led Zeppelin, Vampire Weekend, and Chromeo… Just to name a few. (check the website for a complete line up!!!)
Be prepared to get in touch with your hippie side. Imagine. You and a stadium full of people on the biggest camping trip of your life!
The festival takes place in Manchester Tennessee June 12-15
