Whose House?

It’s your favorite new game from [ 2 one 5 ], Whose House?, where we sneakily take photos of someone’s dwellings with/without their knowledge and provide you with the opportunity of guessing whose resides in that particular house/apartment/shack/tepee. Here’s the next installment. Your choices are under the picture.

Street Art Locator

streetartloc.jpg

A new website supported by long-running arts magazine Juxtapoz went live the other week and features a uniquely interactive means of documenting art from around the world. StreetArtLocator allows users to upload photos and browse other photos via a google-maps style navigation and pop-up photos. So get on over there and upload the photos of all the crappy stencils you did while in art school! But seriously, there’s some good art up there already.

Air Yeezy

A huge fuss erupted over the sneakers Kanye West wore during his not-so-good, but also touching Grammy performance. Of course, because it’s Kanye and because it’s sneakers, people went nuts and wanted to cop a pair, even though they could hardly be seen amidst the other pieces of Kanye’s outfit. Yet again, the shoes take the spotlight. Recently posted on Yeezy’s blog, this photo (and another) drew people’s eyes to Mr. West’s sneakers (supposedly seeing  a release next year). But, we’re not looking at the sneakers. What the fuck is Kanye wearing? What is that shirt? It’s got one short sleeve, one long sleeve, a hoodie pouch, some weird strappy shoulder pads, a Mad Max style wrist contraption, and some weird long red thing underneath. My god. If people start actually dressing like this (the sunglasses were enough), then we have some serious problems.

Your Philadelphia 76ers

Sixers13.jpg

After trailing for nearly the entire game, hometown (and nearly forgotten about) heroes, the Sixers, swished into the NBA playoffs by upsetting second-seeded Detroit by a score of 90-86. Led by a cast of unsuperstars, the Sixers courtrunners all stepped it up in a big way and swung the ax until they chopped Detroit’s lead and took over the game in the 4th quarter. Thanks to a botched shot by Philly’s own Simon Gratz grad Rasheed Wallace, the Sixers were able to hang on and now have control of the series with a 1-0 advantage. Game 2 gets underway on Wednesday.

Stussy Philadelphia

Picture-11.jpg

After opening numerous stores this year and last, Stussy brings their latest retail endeavor to our great city of Philadelphia. Stussy Philadelphia took over the second floor of Ubiq and officially opened their doors this past weekend. The opening received a commemoration in the form of a t-shirt (almost way too standard nowadays). Not sure how permanent this store is (Vans was only there for a year), but you’ll probably have a decent amount of time to get your Stussy fix without making the trek to NYC.
