Our homies over at Snowboard Mag have a mega-post of the GZA show they threw to wrap up SIA. DJ A-Dog was on hand laying down some shit all the while wearing a Living Proof Hoodie. Check out their review of the show, and gaze upon tons and tons of photos from our other homie Craig Wetherby. See the fun time that Slick missed out on because he had to hop a red-eye back to the office to get in on time. On a Friday no less. Talk about the boss setting an example. But we have work to do, so partying sometimes takes a back seat. Speaking of parties, we’ve got another one planned. More details on that later. In the meantime, check our Flickr (as always) for past party pics and Slick’s great adventure at SIA.

A while back, we posted that Kanye West was “writing” a book. Well, the months went by and still no prose from the Chicago native. Recently though, Kanye has released a few pages from his book (it was supposed to come out in January). This is the only news he’s given since we first heard about it. What’s the holdup, you might be wondering. My guess, based on the few sample pages, is probably that the real author J. Sakiya Sandifer is having a hell of a time translating Kanye’s “Kanyeisms.” After all, the dude doesn’t exactly have the most rational, thought-provoking, or even coherent thoughts/quips/witticisms. So imagine putting a whole book together full of them. And honestly, based on the design, my guess is probably right. I’m kind of digging the cleanness of the design and all, but it looks like a waste of paper. But then again, anytime Kanye West “writes” a book, I’m going to call it a waste of paper. Anyway, here’s the sample pages. Visit his blog to read one more. Read the rest of his blog to be bombarded with product’s Kanye likes and you’ll never be able to afford, and to see his real writing in action.

The above billboard was taken down recently, and it wasn’t because of the tagged goodness all over it. Actually, it was. To an extent. The board, promoting Murakami’s MOCA show in LA received some additions from prolific LA writers Auger and Revok. After the photos surfaced on the internet, courtesy of Revok, Murakami had the board taken down. That wasn’t the end of it though. He had it shipped to his Tokyo studio for his own personal collection! Read the blurb from the LA Weekly.
