The above picture is a tiny collage of a few of our favorites from the upcoming Spring 2008 Vans Vault series. They’ve got some nice patterns, fabrics, and colors. The Half Cab makes quite a few appearances. It’s always been one of our top shoes, and it’s good to see it getting the Vault treatment. Click here to see the whole line. There’s plenty more that our highly tonal choices.

We know it’s been a while since the good ol’ blogger had a nice long session of updates. Today, that all changes. The new year came and went but still left everybody sick. It’s taking a while for us to reach that high-gear, but the office needs to keep running or else you wouldn’t be able to enjoy our goods or quirks.
Anyway, last Thursday, our aforementioned goods strutted their stuff on the runway at Vesuvio as part of the THON fashion show. Cultures Clothing was on hand, too and graced the catwalk with us. Naturally, our cameras came along since it seems like they’re the new “never leave home without.” But, you have no reason to complain about it because you get to see all the pictures from all our fun times. Bang it to our Flickr to see the whole set.

My name is Dan, and I’m known as the office “hater.” I hate a lot of stuff. I mean a lot. When someone asks my opinion of something, they usually expect me to have nothing nice to say, and they’re surely not let down. Now, while I do agree with our Best Of albums from yesterday, I was asked to spew my hate-filled thoughts on some albums from 2007. Here I (and you) go:
1.) Kanye West - Graduation: How could I not start out with this one? Kanye annoys the fuck out of me. I will admit to owning and liking College Dropout, but since Mr. West burst on the scene, he’s pulled one dumb move after another to the point where I’m ired by even the mention of his name.
2.) Justice - +: I can’t even figure out how to type a cross here for the name of their album. I just have one thing to tell these French lads: Homework came out in 1997. That’s now nearly 11 years ago.
3.) Wu-Tang Clan - 8 Diagrams: I love the Wu-Tang Clan to no end, but their recent group albums have been utterly disappointing. I’ve read tons of good reviews for this album, but I’m just not seeing or feeling where they’re coming from.
4.) Radiohead - In Rainbows: Once again, totally not impressed in the least with this one.
5.) Liars - Liars: This one kind of flew under the radar for most people. And with good cause. For a band that constantly changes and pushes the envelop, it all didn’t really land with this record. Maybe they should go back to getting freaked out by witches and heart attacks.
And, to show you all I’m not a full on hater, here’s my pick for most slept on album on 2007:

PJ Harvey - White Chalk: I’ve been a Polly Jean fan for a long time, and this album makes it really seem like she’s embraced/hit her stride in dealing with her maturity as both an artist and person. Listen to it if you haven’t yet.
