So, we’re a tad late on giving our take on the recent Phillies season. Howard Eskin feels the season wasn’t a success by any real means. But, Eskin will do and say anything, and when he’s right about it you’ll hear it, but not when he’s wrong. Anyway, thanks Phillies. That’s not to be said with any sort of sarcasm. This was one of the most exciting, up and down seasons we can remember, and it was worth it in a lot of ways. You can say what you want about their postseason woes (.180 hitting average and 0-3 record), but why get down on the bad? Why boo and hiss when all they did was bring home an NL East Championship (and put the Mets out)? Look, we were all cheering and filled with glee when it happened, and it was kind of funny (and almost perversely expected when they got knocked out). Through all the bad and good, this team played their asses off and their hearts out, and that’s worth more than anything to us. Especially in the sport of baseball. So, we’ll be ready next year and no matter what happens, if they play the same way, it’ll be a success.

Google Street launched recently, and Philly is one of only six cities privileged enough to have a little car with a camera on the top driving around taking video/pictures of just about every single street. We’ve been playing around with it all morning and were thrilled to find out that a giant J. Ambrogi Food Distriution truck didn’t get in the way of our office. At least it’s blocking out the whore house that’s a sore spot on our street. So go ahead and mess around with it. Find your apartment, see if your car made it into a shot, spot familiar passerbys, or use it to stalk someone because being a creepster just got so much easier. Total score.

There’s rumors circulating the internets predicting that Andy Reid will call it quits as the Eagles head coach either at the end of the season or before. With a bye week this past weekend, and no real Eagles news stories, this gained a lot of momentum. Well, Reid put the rumors to rest and says he’ll be in Philly and head coaching as long as they’ll have him. And, he also offered up what could possibly be the quote of the decade, and probably the year. Photo from the Metro.
