YES YOU CAN!!!

You know what’s great about working at [ 2 one 5 ]? Occasionally, the boss will call you up while you’re out running errands and tell you to grab a camera and meet him at the Phillies Rally. Well, I did, and here’s some photos from it. Check our Flickr for the rest.

Tons of Phillies Phaithful lined up all around City Hall to hear the players speak, see the Phanatic’s antics, and sing along to “High Hopes” with Harry Kalas. What’s great about this team, and the reason I’m most excited, is that with everything that’s gone wrong, they’ve kept scrapping, clawing, and phightin’ their way until, on the final day of the season, they grabbed a playoff spot and the NL East title for the first time in 14 years. The Phillies “Yes we can” attitude provided a huge boost to us today at the office, and will continue to inspire us for years to come. Just like the Phillies, big things are happening for [ 2 one 5 ].

To show our support for the Phillies, we tagged a huge inflated Modell’s jersey.

The Invincible, Untouchable Sneaker Pimp

phillyflyer.jpeg

The Philadelphia portion of the Sneaker Pimps (not the band) tour lands at the Troc this Saturday. A “Sneaker Lifestyle” show (whatever that means), these events bring in large numbers of sneakerheads (as evidenced by their lineup of Philly sponsors) and feature art, skate demos, and musical performances. While NYC gets Nas and EPMD to hop on the mic, Philly gets shafted big time with Capone-N-Noreaga. That’s right CNN, who collectively haven’t released an album since 2000’s “The Reunion.” Back in 2000, I was a freshman in college and living in the dorms at Temple University. My roommate, Bruce, purchased this album the day it came out  and listened to it non-stop for about 3 weeks straight. That really isn’t an exaggeration. I’d come back from class, walk through the door to the 2nd floor of Johnson Hall, and get hit a wall of this CNN album. So, I would put my bag down, and leave until I knew he was at class and I wouldn’t have to listen to Capone and Noreage trading verses. So, don’t expect me at the Troc this weekend. But you should go. I will admit, “Invincible” was a pretty hot song though.

although i do appreciate wes anderson and his quarky movies, i didnt see much of a point in his short film HOTEL CHEVALIER staring jason schwartzman and natalie portman. i get the concept but i think he was just making an excuss to see the backside of natalie portman, which is quite nice i might add. to see the trailer . . . . . (wait how can you have a trailer for a movie thats only 13 min long) regardless to view the trailer and to download the movie goto the itunes store.

So, it seems [ 2 one 5 ] can predict the future. Maybe. A while back, we commented on the trend of comic/movie/etc. graphics making their way onto t-shirts, hoodies, and jackets, and we also mentioned how some brand should capitalize on the TRON outfits (click either link for pictures) huge nerds were putting together for conventions/their own personal use. We surmised that popular rappers would drape themselves in these ensembles. Our vision has officially become a reality thanks to this man:

This past weekend, Kanye West performed on Saturday Night Live. During what I think was his first performance, he wore a jacket that appeared to have blue glowsticks on it, or just glow in the dark tubing. Regardless, it’s good Kanye embraced TRON fashion and made us feel like we can predict the future. So, from here on out, you can refer to us as 2one5stradamus. Watch a video his performance here.
