So, it seems Donovan McNabb decided to open his mouth regarding the whole Michael Vick thing. And, it seems as though Donovan McNabb should have kept his mouth shut. Here’s what he had to say regarding Vick’s “woes.” From the Washington Post:
“I’m a supporter of Vick,” McNabb said Tuesday at Lehigh University. “That’s because I’m a good friend of his and also we’re guys that obviously compete to win the Super Bowl. We push each other. Now, I don’t know exactly what happened in that situation, and I think for all of us that have read over the stuff that was over the Internet, the report, you look at it as kind of like, ‘Wow, you’ve got your so-called friends and family members turning their back on you now to make their situation better.’ They’re throwing you under the bus so that they can clean their name. That’s unfortunate. That goes to show, I always have a saying that I’ve always lived by: If you can’t trust family, who can you trust? It’s an unfortunate situation, and I just hope everything works out well for him where he can get back out on the field.”

Now, Mr. Chunky Soup is certainly entitled to his opinion, but is it just me, or does he sound kind of asinine? He’s basically putting the blame for Vick’s troubles on his family, not, you know, Vick himself who knowingly ran a dog fighting operation involving gambling and killing dogs. I have a six-month old puppy, and I don’t even like yelling at her when she does something wrong, let alone killing her because she’s not a “fighter” or because she’s got too severely injured biting at another dog for my enjoyment/monetary gains. Personally, I think Michael Vick is a piece of shit, and he deserves whatever punishment comes his way. I know there’s still a whole “innocent until proven guilty” thing, but the finger of evidence points to Vick’s involvement in the whole operation, and the fact that he’s remained completely quiet since the allegations/searches first started doesn’t really shed a good light on Vick. Also, has he ever denied involvement? From what I’ve read, the answer is no.
