According to CNN, Lil Wayne wasn’t putting his art school education to use, instead, he was looking to play Quick Draw McGraw because dude got bucked for weapons possession. Not to be out done, Ja Rule was arrested for the same charge for the same weapon shortly before Weezy. Also, Weezy was smoking weed on the street when police stopped him and found a 40 caliber pistol on him.

HipHopSite reports that 50 Cent has been doing some jawing, most likely because his upcoming album, Curtis, is set to drop on Sept. 11th.** He takes some shots at some notable names, including one of our all time favorites Ghostface. The shots mostly have to do with sales numbers, you know, not mic skills or anything really relevant. It’ll be interesting to see if Mr. Cent’s first week numbers, and his total in general, suffer a drop from his last release. Anyway, here’s what Curtis had to say.
On Lil Wayne and his numerous guest spots:
“A whore sleeps with whoever pay them. So we gotta call him a whore - if he just goes with whoever.”
On Nas being “weird”:
“You have people that are extremely book smart that lack common sense so they don’t know what’s going to affect their audience. Nas is a really smart guy. He reads books constantly. Conceptually, I think that’s what made him drift away from what his initial audience enjoys from him and why he’s not hot right now.”
On Cam’s commercial failure and Jim Jones:
“This is why I tell him Jim Jones should be the boss of Dipset and now you see Jim Jones say he’s not fuckin’ with Cam…You’re as hot as your last hit record. His last hit was fuckin’ “Horse & Carriage”. He’ll make comparisons to Lloyd Banks’ sales with Jimmy Jones’ sales. So what? Is my worst your best? Why are you not comparing yourself to me? Considering he’s supposed to be Dipset’s boss, while I’m supposed to be the headman for G-Unit. Maybe it’s because he sold 200,000 his last album and I sold 9.8 million.”
On Chamillionaire cleaning up his mouth:
“Let him go sell gospel records, if he’s so fuckin’ righteous.”
On Ghostface being a “failure”:
“In my camp, a couple hundred thousand records is a failure. From my perspective, if I sell 200,000 copies, after selling 12 million records, it’s considered terrible…But if you’re on a major record label, and he [Ghostface] is, and you sell a couple hundred thousand records, that was a failure. Your fuckin’ photos and videos aren’t recouped with 200,000 copies sold.”
** - Kanye’s new album is set to drop the same day. Also, Jay-Z’s The Blueprint dropped on Sept. 11h 2001. I have a big Jay-Z poster with the previous dates for the The Blueprint crossed out and “Sept. 11th” really big with “The Streets Couldn’t Wait” under it. And yes, I went out and bought the album that day.
