I don’t really buy new music anymore. Nothing really tickles my fancy. So to combat my extreme boredom, I’m consigned to dust off the old gems every now and again, and pretend like they’re fresh out of the plastic wrap. Although they now smell like my room, it’s still fun to makebelieve like I’ve never heard it before. Here’s a few examples:
1.) Stone Roses - s/t = Best album ever.
2.) Jay-Z - Reasonable Doubt = Boy was hungry here. How did he ever let Kingdom Come see the light of day?
3.) Echo and the Bunnymen - Crocodiles = I want teased poofy hair more than ever now.
4.) My Bloody Valentine - Isn’t Anything = Earlier, fuzzier, rawer version of one of my favorite bands.
5.) The Durutti Column - Return of the Durutti Column = Martin and Vini fucking around with guitars and synths.
6.) Kool Keith - Black Elvis = This album is mindblowing even to this day.

A while ago, it was hinted at that Lupe Fiasco was a piece of a supergroup that was forming out of hip hop heavyweights that would rattle the world. Well, time has passed and a track has leaked that features Lupe rapping alongside Kanye West, and Pharrell Williams (who, by the way, delivers a decent verse in which he raps, doesn’t sing). Now, with two ego-driven producers at the helm, i’m sure questions arose as to who would lay the beat for this group. Well, they apparently put their differences aside and settled by pretty much rapping over Thom Yorke’s “The Eraser.” Now, they do “sample” (i use that term loosely since it sounds like the did nothing to the song) Thom’s voice in the chorus, but imagine the lazy-eyed wonderkid trading lines/verses with these cats. Now that’s something I’d like to see.

PS - Yes, Lupe’s rocking a [ 2 one 5 ] tee in that picture.

While we’re on the subject of comic-inspired streetwear, will some brand please, please, please, make this a reality??? TRON is so ripe for the picking, and the use of glowsticks/glowropes is so ready to be rocked by popular rappers. Just look at this guy….

Complex recently posted a blog entry about some new Bape stuff. A collabo with DC comics, these new items feature a full zip Batman hoodie that’s even got the ears and a Flash and Superman (not pictured) crewnecks. Each one comes with a little toy. Hoodie retails for something like 450 while the crews retail for like 350. Overpriced? Probably. But since when has Bape been affordable? Anyway, be on the lookout for these to hit Bape stores soon, and be faked on ebay shortly after.

Peace from the Northeast. The VT chapter of the 2one5 movement is going strong. Now that the snow is gone we all tryin to find a good (legal) hustle to pay dem bills. My partner in grime, Smoov B, is reppin over in China for the summer. Luckily I got a good posse to hold B-Town in check. You can either find us in the studio workin on the new mixtape, on the radio throwin down, or playin ball and shoutin at females in the sunshine. Ya boy Idioma is still on stage, most recently DJing for Devin the Dude when he played to a sold out crowd at Club metronome. It’s getting hot up here in the green mountains, which means that all those nice college girls are diggin out the miniskirts and bikinis they had in storage all winter. Looks like Ima need to cop me a tasty new 2one5 fitted to keep all this sun out of my eyes. If you want me you can find me in VT!!!
