“Typography is a hidden tool of manipulation.”

A good font can make a design stand out. A bad one can kill it. No. Slaughter it. I mean, christ, why the hell was Comic Sans even invented? No good comes from that blasphemous piece of you-know-what. Well, nothing except ads for a day care or the cover of a 2nd grader’s project on dinosaurs or some shit. That said, Katerina Orlikova’s ‘Light and Typography’ series takes the finely honed shapes of various typographic sets and using them to generate an ever-changing series of abstract images. Using the medium of a kaleidoscope, Orlikova developed a series of five units each themed around a single typeface, ranging from sans serif to calligraphic; the result are beautifully colorful images that scarcely represent our traditional perceptions of type and how we interpret its design.

At least she knows what she’s doing.

P.S. DON’T USE COMIC SANS. Nothing good will ever come from it. Just delete it from your computer. Do it. now.
