Coming off a stellar late season run that brought home the NL East Title and a much too quick and embarrassing early exit from the playoffs, The Phillies took to their spring training with an attitude that screams relaxed. Not sure if i agree with it, and, I’d hate to say this, Howard Eskin might be right. Uncle Charlie might be a little to lenient and lax with his core of young talent and constantly hurt veterans. First, the whole Man or Machine Pat Burrell shirts get laughs for all the wrong reasons. Pat Burrell is terrible and overpaid. While a decent second half may have saved him a little, look for the zeros on his paycheck to take over again and left-field/5th in the order to start looking like the man (not machine) we all hate. And, Brett Myers welcomes himself way back into the rotation by “punking” Kyle Kendrick about being traded. We’ll see who’s laughing when you start getting shelled and sent back to the bullpen, asshole. Maybe it’s too early to tell, but the early spring training tomfoolery has [ 2 one 5 ] a little shaky about our beloved Phils.
