Dear UArts Kids,
Here’s a little beam of sunlight for a cloudy day in Philly. Your probable hero, Banksy, has been getting some special treatment from the Islington Council. While many Banksy works usually get the “vandalism” treatment, workers for Islington have been trained and now take the time to repair some of the notorious artist’s wall paintings that have been tagged over by non-Banksy fans. So, keep laying your shitty little stencils all over the general Pine/Spruce vicinity where your classes, dorms, and buildings are. Maybe one day they won’t get washed off/painted over/trampled on/made fun of. Then, after your first year at UArts ends, you can pray that the South Philly neighborhood where you eventually move to passes the same ordinance and preserves your work because, you know, it’s “art.”
