Post Season

So, we’re a tad late on giving our take on the recent Phillies season. Howard Eskin feels the season wasn’t a success by any real means. But, Eskin will do and say anything, and when he’s right about it you’ll hear it, but not when he’s wrong. Anyway, thanks Phillies. That’s not to be said with any sort of sarcasm. This was one of the most exciting, up and down seasons we can remember, and it was worth it in a lot of ways. You can say what you want about their postseason woes (.180 hitting average and 0-3 record), but why get down on the bad? Why boo and hiss when all they did was bring home an NL East Championship (and put the Mets out)? Look, we were all cheering and filled with glee when it happened, and it was kind of funny (and almost perversely expected when they got knocked out). Through all the bad and good, this team played their asses off and their hearts out, and that’s worth more than anything to us. Especially in the sport of baseball. So, we’ll be ready next year and no matter what happens, if they play the same way, it’ll be a success.
