Things that make you go hmmm….

As the Summer of Narwhales rages on with the pointed horn of glory sticking out of it’s nose, it was only a matter of time before something started to smell a little fishy.

It seems there’s a new publication dropping in the city of Philly that bears a striking resemblance to our little biz in more ways than one. First off, the name is of this publication (i will not type it for you, you have to guess. it’s like a game. i brushed it out in the picture with a nice salmon color) is strikingly close to ours. It really bothered us at first, almost to the point where we thought we had fallen asleep on the toilet and pooped out a whole new magazine other than our own. Next, after perusing their website, a few other elements popped out as very “coincidentally” similar to stuff we’ve previously done. First, their little launch party involved an ice cream truck–one that looks very much like the one used in Living Proof’s “Scooped” shoot. Next, a few other pieces of their website had already been posted on our blog. Case in point: the Beanie Sigel video we posted nearly a month ago. We’re really flattered and honored that this new publication is walking in the same footsteps we left a year ago. Thanks for retracing our steps and reminding us of the great work we’ve done in the past.

Continuing on our little nautical theme, we leave you with a quote from the great American novelist and recounter of astonishing tales of the sea, Herman Melville. (he also  inspired the Summer of Narwhales because I had read that chapter of Moby Dick on the train that morning)

“It is better to fail in originality than to succeed in imitation.
